Data Governance Leader The Data Governance Leader will be responsible for creating and executing a business outcome driven Data Governance Framework, and partner with key stakeholders to help drive the adoption of Data Governance & Quality roles and responsibilities. Reporting to the Chief Data & Analytics Officer, you will work closely with Enterprise Partners to ensure successful implementation of key Data Governance policies, processes, and tools to enable numerous strategic transformation initiatives. The Data Governance Leader is responsible for growing the accessibility, usability, trust, and quality of data assets at Mercer. It will drive strategy and oversight for data governance initiatives and requires collaboration and partnership across a diverse group of stakeholders including Information Security, Privacy, Legal, Compliance, and Data Stewards. What can you expect? \* Increase partnership with Legal, Compliance, Privacy and business areas to ensure alignment on firm policy and transparency across efforts. \* Definethe data governance strategy and plan for Mercer, including data quality, data access controls, compliance with privacy and security regulations, master data management, and data sharing. \* Actively engage on the development of the Data & Analytics COE- experience with data councils and data governance constructs. \* Responsible for end-to-end governance of Digital Data & Analytics initiatives. \* Create and manage a business outcome driven Data Governance and Quality roadmap \* Responsible to implement Classification and Ownership data standards and policies to support the lines of businesses, while facilitating adoption to the Enterprise Data Governance Requirements on a risk-based prioritization \* Providing oversight and guidance to transformation programs and projects to ensure the timely and effective implementation of data solutions, aligned to Data Governance and Quality needs. \* Develop metrics to measure effectiveness and drive adoption of the Data Governance Policy and Standards, that will be applied to mitigate the identified risks across the data lifecycle (e.g., capture / production, aggregation / processing, reporting / consumption) \* Establishing a Data Governance Council to provide senior management with oversight and transparency of data governance activities, budget and funding requirements, data quality concerns and issue management, and program status. Escalate high priority issues to Council and execute appropriate actions to resolve open items. \* Establish, monitor and report on data quality (e.g., define/ gather metrics, developing dashboards, deploying tools) as per the Critical Data Elements defined by the business. \* Overseeing Data Quality Issue Management (DQIM) with a focus on root cause analysis (RCA) of critical and high impact data quality issues to ensure that action plans and data remediation is conducted in timely and cost effective manner. \* Help identify existing tools and processes aimed at identifying, logging, resolving, and managing data quality issues; assist with the selection of best of breed tools/components in line with ECDO standards to simplify execution of any agreed initiatives. \* Partner with ECDO and Technology to drive implementation and adoption of tools necessary to build and run effective data quality tools and processes We will count on you to: \* Drive the global rollout of the Enterprise Data Catalog to create an inventory of Mercer's data assets. Partner with Data Stewards to create and maintain a glossary of key business terms across Mercer's three businesses, Health, Wealth and Career, as well as other lines of business. \* Close partnership and integration with data from Finance, Sales and Marketing. \* Lead and facilitate the Data Governance Committee, which includes representatives from Information Security, Privacy and Legal, to review key projects that affect the data ecosystem. \* Own the auditing of Mercer's data ecosystem from a governance perspective; identify and implement any required remediation. \* Identify key data governance metrics to track and implement measurement system. \* Develop a deep understanding of Mercer's data ecosystem and data management processes. \* Strong strategy consultancy experience covering operations at a major financial institution \* Deep subject matter expertise in Data Governance and Quality strategy and execution. \* Demonstrated success in transforming a business through technology, data, analytics and business simplification \* Experience overseeing a data-driven ecosystem while balancing constraints from legacy systems or regulatory requirements \* Ability to work independently and to drive iterative enhancements in To view the full job description, click here
