SUMMARY: The Marketing Specialist is an eclectic position, with duties and responsibilities in several marketing areas. The incumbent will be responsible for the program management of various direct marketing campaigns including: property coordination and communication, vendor management, list processing and offer creation. In addition, they will assist in creating events, working promotions and events, Internal P & P’s, creating and maintain the marketing calendar, handling customer service issues and assisting with social media. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Create and maintain time-lines for all direct mail, email and other player communications.

• Assist department with all promotions and special events –including creating events, promotions and Processes and Procedures (P & P’s).

• Assist Advertising in all area’s including but not limited to reviewing all advertising, deadlines, content (timing and proofing)

• Assist Social Media –creating and deploying campaigns.

• Key user of IGT Advantage Patron Management system.

• Work with graphics, composition and printing services regarding advertising needs and deadline requirements.

• Will work closely with agency, production partners and internal Advertising and Marketing staff to oversee that projects are complete within scope and budget.

• Work closely with other departments, identifying specific advertising needs and manage the follow through of orders.

• Responsible for working with creative, print and copy writing vendors to insure product is delivered to the appropriate place in a timely manner.

• Responsible for working with mail house and email vendors to insure mail goes out on time and accurately.

• Assist in all events, including but not limited to all concerts, promotions, giveaways, special events, player development events and tournaments.

• Work closely with the department and other departments on guest services, customer issues and customer relations.

• Edits customer lists and is responsible for the security of customer lists for the property.

• Thoroughly reviews and proofreads all direct mail offer matrices and copy in order to identify and correct errors and/or omissions.

• Extract, analyze and execute offers or information distribution through the IGT Advantage Patron Management system.

• Assists in the development and execution of effective prospective and retention marketing programs for the property.

• Works closely with the Marketing Manager to create and implement email offers and promotions.

• Implements tactics to increase email open and click through rates such as A/B subject line testing and send time optimization.

• Collaborate with an agency to establish an API connection between player database and email platform to allow for email automation and online player account access.

• Monitors competitors’ email and strategizes with suggestions for improvement with our programs.

• Develop and communicate messages on promotions, entertainment and special events in a timely manner as necessary for planned events and any unanticipated occurrences.

• Evaluates and inputs all marketing customer list requests to ensure that we are using the most effective processing and capturing all audiences.

• Oversees all direct marketing projects to ensure accuracy and integrity of all offers, customer lists and customer records.

• Coordinate and promote casino activities and special guest functions and act in a public relations capacity at casino-sponsored events.

• Support and promote the philosophy and objectives of casino management.

• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing.

• Must be able to work a varied schedule, weekends and holidays as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. MINIMUM QUAILIFICATIONS: A minimum of two years’ experience in spreadsheet or database experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a working knowledge of Marketing operations and strategy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: College degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance or related field is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, guests, and the general public.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is occasional exposure of the associate to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III Gaming License which requires an extensive background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
