About the Role

Join Stryker and take your Finance career to new heights. Our fast growing East Asia region is currently hiring a Finance Controller to oversee the Hong Kong & Taiwan (HKTW) markets.

This key leadership role is a finance business partner to the HKTW leadership team, providing key data, insights and stewardship to ensure the business meets its commercial and financial objectives. Besides, you will develop and manage a team of 6 to oversee accounting operations, internal control and tax filings for the HKTW business, ensuring proper processes and systems are in place, adhering to the company's compliance policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive leadership driving financial discipline to meet HKTW commercial and financial objectives while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance.

  • Work closely with HKTW finance teams and commercial leaders to ensure business continuity (invoicing and collecting of A/R; ensuring financial systems are running properly and record transactions properly).

  • Lead the team recording the financial books and records for countries within the HKTW region.

  • Develop accurate forecasts and an annual budget.

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the region's growth and productivity objectives.

  • Anticipate business trends, assess risks and recommend solutions and contingency plans to ensure meeting financial and business objectives.

  • Provide information and analysis in the form of options for clear and swift decision making.

  • Drive appropriate differentiation in resource allocation.

  • Build breakthrough business analysis financial models for evaluating business opportunities and resource allocation.

  • Effectively communicate and influence across cultures and geographies to achieve financial and business objectives.

  • Manage & develop finance teams across HKTW.

  • Recommend and implement plans to improve cash flow.

  • Develop strong working relationships with external entities such as banks, accountants and dealers.

  • Provide leadership, guidance and development opportunities to your team.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accountancy / Finance / Business.

  • CPA or equivalent qualification.

  • 12 to 15 years of experience working across different Finance roles with increasing responsibilities and proven results.

  • Experience gained in MNCs spanning accounting operations, internal control and FP&A is most ideal.

  • Strong written and spoken English. Fluent spoken Cantonese and Mandarin is required to communicate with local Sales and functional teams.

  • Prior people management experience is required.

  • Strong understanding of IFRS required, USGAAP knowledge is a plus.

  • Solid experience in risk management and internal control.

  • Experience creating, evaluating and analyzing financial models to determine best options.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build credibility with stakeholders and influence across a matrix organization structure.

  • Driven and possess improvement mindset, enjoys autonomy to own processes and relationships and deliver results.

  • Able to travel to Taiwan once a month for business.
