Aston Carter Controller in Honolulu, Hawaii

Restoration company looking for a strong Controller to lead the team!


Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or any other related field of study

10+ years of experience within accounting

Experience in QuickBooks is required

Prior experience with FP&A software (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

Construction industry experience highly preferred!


Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Produces the annual budget and forecasts; provide a budget to actual variance analysis to management on a monthly basis.

Oversee and manage the offshore/outsourced accounting team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of deliverables.

Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.

Provides Profit & Loss reports to management monthly.

Evaluate all manual processes and look for automated or technology-based solutions.

Formalize a process to close the books within 10 business days after month-end.

Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with General Managers; collaborate on solutions to cross-functional business problems.

Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Works with external auditors and provides needed information for audits.

Establish a cash flow forecasting process and provide weekly reporting.
