Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston, Texas

Description

Our client is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for compiling and maintaining our accounts payable records by performing a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling all vendor maintenance-related add/change requests

  • Responding to all inquiries and processing requests within established time requirements

  • Running and obtaining approval for regularly scheduled reports

  • Coordinating ACH setup and penny testing process

  • Handling the 1042 and 1099 process

  • Assisting field locations with any vendor-related questions and issues

  • Liaising with SOX or internal/external audit inquiries related to vendor maintenance processes and procedures

  • Adhering to company AP policies and maintaining compliance with the company's Delegation of Authority (DOA).

  • Executing functions within SAP software

  • Creating and updating Microsoft Excel files

  • Assisting in monthly closings as needed

  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school is preferred

  • At least three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced Accounts Payable environment

  • Proficiency in SAP and AP workflow software is a plus

  • Strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize workloads effectively

  • Committed to reliable attendance during specified work hours

  • Willingness to work overtime when needed to meet accounting cycle deadlines
