Robert Half Business Systems Analyst in Houston, Texas

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated IT Business Analyst to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving business value through innovative technology solutions. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring that technology initiatives align with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document their needs, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Elicit, validate, and prioritize business requirements for IT projects.

  • Translate business requirements into clear, concise, and functional specifications for technical teams.

  • Work collaboratively with developers, designers, and project managers to ensure successful project execution.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Conduct gap analysis to assess current state vs. desired state.

  • Develop and maintain business process models and user stories.

  • Create and maintain business requirements documentation (BRDs).

  • Test and validate IT solutions to ensure they meet business needs.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies (e.g., BABOK Guide).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with user story writing and user experience (UX) concepts a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with business process modeling tools (e.g., Visio) desirable.
