Construction Manager

KBR is looking for a Construction Manager with broad direction have responsibility over a group of technical staff on major (under 5 million construction work hours) projects. This role will liaise with the engineering firm for the project, and preparation of executive reports, initiation of progress reporting systems and interfacing with client representatives.

The Construction Manager will act as the channel of communications with the Contractor on all matters relevant to the satisfactory completion of the works under the contract and supervise the works to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the contract.

This role is for a future opportunity on an upcoming project.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide constructability to engineering

  • Observe site conditions in order to call for any necessary design changes

  • Check levels and positions of existing structures and pipelines shown in the contract and reports discrepancies to the project's Registered Engineer

  • Design such works as may be delegated to him by the Registered Engineer

  • Supervise the work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with the contract

  • Supervise in general the methods adopted by the Contractor for the execution of the works undertaken by him in order to ensure the satisfactory execution

  • Check that all notices and wayleaves are arranged in a timely manner

  • Ensure that there is no delay in providing the Contractor with full information required for the ordering of Prime Cost Items

  • Supervise and record any tests of materials

  • Ensure that up-to-date record drawings are produced

  • Confirm progress photographs are taken and maintained

  • Maintain careful notes of all disputes arising out of the interpretation of the contract so that, if necessary, the form of contract and specification can be amended for similar future works

  • Assure implementation of the company's Safety Policy

  • Notify the Contractor and others of any hazardous situations

Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field

  • 8 + years of progressive related experience

  • Experience in large scale EPC Construction Projects

  • Proficiency with evaluating construction/construction software like: Blackline, Insight AWP, ProCore, or similar software

  • Proven ability to be responsible and accountable for overall construction execution at the site (typically >500000 - 2M MH’s or TIC of $50M-$400M) including safety, quality, HR and industrial relations, material management, client interface, labor productivity, cost, and schedule

  • Ability to plan and execute daily, weekly, and overall project planning from project initiation to completion and turnover

  • Have led and supervised field management and support departments to ensure teams are focused on achieving safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals

  • Strong leadership skills aimed at achieving high craft productivity and overall cost management

  • Project setup and subcontracting strategy
