We are offering an exciting opportunity for a VP of Accounting in Houston, Texas. This role is critical for the effective and efficient operation of our financial activities. As a VP of Accounting, you will be expected to oversee all accounting functions, HR, Technology Functions, oversee accounts payable and receivable, and ensure compliance with auditing procedures. You will also be responsible for budget processes, month-end close tasks, and preparation of financial statements.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial regulations

• Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and recording

• Implement and maintain accounting software systems to streamline operations

• Conduct regular audits to verify financial information and compliance with regulations

• Handle the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Manage the budgeting processes to ensure financial efficiency

• Handle month-end close tasks, ensuring timely completion

• Oversee business operations, providing insights to upper management when necessary

• Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting

• Handle HR leadership tasks, ensuring efficient management and staff relations

• Utilize Yardi for property management tasks, specifically for multifamily properties

• Prepare income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations

• Provide executive leadership, assisting in company-wide decision making.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role or related field

• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Extensive knowledge and experience in managing Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity and experience with Auditing procedures

• Demonstrated ability to manage Budget Processes

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in Financial Statement Preparation

• Understanding of Business operations and financial planning

• Experience in HR Leadership and managing teams

• Familiarity with Yardi property management software

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related software

• Demonstrated Executive Leadership skills

• Experience with Income Tax Return procedures

• Experience in managing Multifamily Properties financials.
