Citigroup Director, Mid-Corporate Industrials Relationship Manager in Houston, Texas

This Senior Relationship Manager will be focused on both existing and new banking relationships with US-headquartered companies in the Industrials sector up to $5Bn in revenue. Primary responsibilities of the Senior Relationship Manager are to build relationships while providing solutions for US CCB clients. The role involves day-to-day cooperation and collaboration with products, operations, implementation, and risk management teams at all levels (country, regional and global) in order to source, develop and grow client relationships. The individual in this role will have responsibility for developing solutions and product proposals for CCB clients in the US along with various internal partners, supporting the onboarding process of clients, and building and maintaining a client portfolio.

Job Description / Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire new, multi-product clients for the Bank and manage those relationships on an ongoing basis. Own, respond to, uncover, and anticipate future needs, roadblocks or risks and expectations;

  • Actively build a new business pipeline and call on clients and develop relationships at multiple levels across the client organization

  • Client-level planning, budget, and revenue responsibilities. Identify cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet

  • Work closely with cash management implementation team, Cash Sales Managers, Underwriting / Risk teams, Markets experts and RM Associates daily. Coordinate with Product and Investment Banking coverage to deliver Product solutions while at the same time sponsoring any credit requirements with CCB’s risk and underwriting teams. Coordinate overseas coverage of clients’ needs across over 100 countries where Citi has dedicated banking coverage;

  • Administrate the credit relationship of clients, coordinate and supervise the entire process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes;

  • Oversee talented junior resources to provide financial solutions to clients and prospects and ensure safe and sound underwriting practices;

  • Maximize client experience by proactively sharing markets updates, trends, and intelligence;

  • Monitor and support products’ implementation processes. Manage customers and transactions in the CRM platform;

  • Verify adherence to global KYC (Know Your Customer) standards during the onboarding process and, on an ongoing basis, ensuring the appropriate compliance deliverables are met;

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all times.

Knowledge:

  • Sound knowledge of banking, treasury / lending / markets products and processes, as well as a solid track record of providing banking and financial advice and solutions to clients;

  • Meaningful experience in structuring and approving credit solutions across different risk profiles. Experience with offshore credit is preferred but not required.

  • Ability to coordinate multi-functional teams to provide an exceptional client experience;

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (e.g., negotiation, consultative skills, leadership);

  • Highly focused, able to rapidly identify key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities;

  • Accountable for significant direct business results and provide advice regarding the operations and growth of the business;

  • A proactive approach in looking for ways to develop new and strengthen existing business relationships with clients, delivers a simple, secure, and seamless client experience;

  • Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience that we deliver for our clients;

  • Must have a sharp business development focus and demonstrate innovative approaches;

  • Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights;

  • Demonstrate thought leadership. Ability to create long-term trust and advisory based relationships with clients;

  • Practical knowledge of regulations, market practices and bank operations.

Experience / Education:

  • Experience with Commercial clients in the Industrials sector;

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of banking products and services typically utilized by middle market clients;

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
