The Role at a glance:

As the Director of Talent Acquisition you will lead a team of 5-10 National Recruiters that are responsible for supporting the hourly and salaried recruiting needs across Elior North America (ENA). The Director of TA will be a trusted partner to the business and will help their team drive effective and innovative recruitment strategies to support the company’s increasing hiring needs.

This is a highly visible and critical role to the organization. Recruiting experience, keeping abreast of current market conditions, strong relationship building, effective team leadership, and overall business savvy will be the main keys to success.

This is a is based out of our Houston, TX office.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and nurture strong partnerships with Business Managers/Leaders, HR Business Partners, and Talent Acquisition Business Partners

  • Consult with segment business and HR leadership regarding workforce planning strategies including workforce diversity, forecasted staffing needs, and personnel development plans

  • Partner closely with process stakeholders to ensure we are removing obstacles and creating a sense of shared accountability between our teams

  • Regularly report out on progress, flag hot spots, and work through creative solutions with our internal client base and business leaders

  • Be responsible for planning, leading, and implementing hiring initiatives that will attract candidates to the organization

  • Collaborate with segment operators on workforce planning efforts to ensure TA team is appropriately staffed and has the tools needed to support fluctuations in workforce demand/capacity

  • Regularly meets, consults, and presents staffing project initiatives to segment HR and Operations leaders

  • Lead, develop, and coach your team, driving a strong performance culture and providing them with opportunities to grow their recruiting careers

  • Enable the team to become embedded in the segments they support so we can be trusted talent advisors to their business

  • Conduct weekly meetings with Team to keep your finger on the pulse of their activity and to help remove barriers to success

  • Conduct annual performance reviews and mid-year check-ins. Ensure team understands their individual and team objectives

  • Have continuous dialog with team members to understand their development goals and provide opportunities for development

  • Leverage data to make impactful resourcing decisions and understand key recruiting metrics and measurable team KPIs

  • This position requires the creation of sourcing strategies that would generally include significant coordination with the client on required skills, identifying competitor information and researching industry terms

  • This position will oversee the recruiting team’s methodologies for creating sourcing pools and utilizing internet boards, referral networks and industry specific user groups to identify passive candidates not typically found through the standard job posting procedures

  • Provide guidance to team on how to source active and passive applicants, recruit, screen, interview and offer for highly specialized and difficult-to- attract positions. Also, advise recruiters on the planning and execution of recruiting events, job fairs, and marketing events

  • Keep abreast of internal, market, and competitor compensation, benefits, and attrition trending within food service and other competitive market industries

  • Use your expertise in recruiting best practices, current market trends, and technology to drive hiring success and to develop successful action plans when addressing challenges

  • Ensures that recruiting and hiring activities are following government regulations and organizational policies and procedures. Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best- practices

  • In collaboration with the Manager of TA Strategic Programs & Partnerships, ensure Recruiters are working with our strategic recruiting partners, such as local schools, career centers, and diversity employment programs (disability, military, etc.)

  • In collaboration with TA Operations, ensure tools, technology, and processes are meeting the needs of the TA team. Take a broad perspective to identify and propose innovative solutions that can either scale across the enterprise, meet the specific needs of our seven segments, or both

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

  • At least 12 years of demonstrated success in a progressive, high-volume hiring environment with minimum 5 years of team leadership experience

  • Experience with technology tools and digital platforms including Applicant Tracking Systems, Social Media, Texting Tools, and other TA-focused technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage multiple deadlines, oversee projects, influence without authority, and drive actions necessary for desired results

  • Excellent people management/leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and develop team members of all backgrounds and experience levels - track record of having successfully managed remote or distributed teams is a must

  • Experience developing teams to be highly effective/ highly engaged brand ambassadors

  • Strong ability to glean key insights from recruiting data and communicate long term trends within our industries.

  • Strong executive presence, combined with excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fluid and dynamic work environment

  • Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills

Nice-to-haves:

  • Undergraduate degree

  • Experience as a recruiter or recruiting manager in the Food Service (or retail) industry

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, GPHR) and/or recruiting certification is a plus (CDR, ACIR, CIR, etc.)

Where you'll be working:

You will be working hybrid out of our Houston office four days of the week. We are located at 4920 Westway Park Blvd. Houston, TX 77041.
