Job Summary

The Facilities Technician will maintain efficient and smooth operation of the facility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.

  • Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manual as needed.

  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.

  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems.

  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.

  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.

  • Inspection of facilities to determine problems and necessary maintenance.

  • Marks all issues reported as resolved once complete 

  • Monitors inventory of materials and equipment and oversees regular maintenance vendors activities.

  • Overseeing 3rd party tradesmen during installations, repairs and/or maintenance.

  • Conduct routine Inspection and maintenance of building systems (heating, ventilation, plumbing, fire alarm etc.) to reporter to vendors.

  • Participation in project coordination and management (e.g. renovations)

  • Performing hands-on maintenance work and basic repairs as needed. Use our maintenance network to hire contractors and utilize 3rd party vendors for more technical/advanced skill-level work.

  • Other duties as assigned 

    Job Specifications

    Skills

  • Ability to understand written/verbal instructions and communicate well with others

  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office required

    Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Technical or related college courses a plus but not required

    Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as maintenance/facilities technician

  • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating, plumbing, etc.)

  • General knowledge of various crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, air conditioning

    Physical Requirements

  • Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices

  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine

  • Involves movement between departments, and properties to facilitate work

  • Ability to read and understand information presented orally and/or in writing

  • Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, drawings, and schematics
