SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Medical Assistant position is to provide patient care and customer service assistance to the ambulatory care patient, as delegated, and support daily operations of the center.
Job specific competencies
Assist Staff
Responsibilities include completion of routine patient care assignmentsand/or collecting data from patients as delegated
Accurately record vital signs and other data, report abnormalities to nursing staff.
Completes appropriate information on FML, disability forms and other forms andproducing/sending patient result letters as delegated.
Assist Patients Aids in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, greeting, rooming, and vital signs.
Work Environment
Maintains environment in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
Stock and maintain unit and patient care supplies and equipment ensuringcompliance with policy
Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies and participates in JointCommission rounds
Provides support across all sections of the center as needed
Cleans, stores, prepares, and coordinates maintenance of medical equipmentacross the center or within the center
Clean and prepare medical instruments across the center as required.
Maintains inventories of laboratory and medical supplies
Effective communication
Escalates significant events and concerns regarding patients and their care to appropriate nursing staff
Responsible for the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Interacts with patients and all customers appropriately utilizing language of the caring and demonstrating core values

Education
Required : High school diploma/equivalent.
Experience
Required : One year of medical assistant experience.
Preferred : Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program. With preferred degree, no experience is required.
