Robert Half Network Security Administrator in Houston, Texas

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our secure network infrastructure. In this role, you will leverage your Palo Alto Networks expertise to ensure optimal network security and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, implement, and manage Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including PanOS administration.

  • Analyze network traffic patterns and identify potential security threats.

  • Develop and implement network security policies and procedures.

  • Perform ongoing network security assessments and vulnerability scans.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and security issues.

  • Automate network security tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python).

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest Palo Alto Networks features and security threats.

  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration of network security solutions.

  • Document network configurations and procedures for future reference.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on security.

  • Proven experience in designing, configuring, and managing Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PAN-OS).

  • Strong understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention, etc.).

  • Experience with network troubleshooting tools and methodologies.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A+ and CCNA certifications a plus.

  • Experience with cloud-based network security solutions (AWS, Azure) desirable.
