Lamons (LGC EmployeeCo., LLC) QA Inspector - Temporary in Houston, Texas
Job Summary
Inspects all completed bolting and/or gaskets. Exhibits proficiency in reading tape measure, Pi tape, micrometers; operating metal hardness testers, heat-type allow separator; and interpreting simple gasket blueprints. Exhibits knowledge of bolting and / or gasket styles and material types. Identifies quality problems. May perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager or QA Supervisor
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Receives completed bolting and/or gaskets with work orders from all departments.
Inspects bolting and/or gaskets for conformity to customers’ requests and to assure either bolting or gaskets have been manufactured in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
Compare bolting and\or gaskets, work orders and typed “Shipping Details” to assure conformity.
Operates a variety of measuring and testing equipment. Identifies problems with material and/or production quality.
Responsible for promoting awareness of company Quality Policy and Objectives to shop employees.
Maintains a clean workstation.
Job Specifications
Skills
Ability to understand written/verbal instructions as needed.
Ability to read tape measure, Pi tape and micrometer.
Perform basic mathematical calculations.
Education
High school diploma or GED.
Work Experience
No prior work experience required, but experience in a warehouse/manufacturing setting is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Continuous standing and/or walking
Moderate physical effort- working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights.
Ability to work in cold, hot and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
Must be able to lift twenty-five pounds independently.
