Eaton’s IT team is currently seeking a Lead Payroll Scrum Master to join team. This position will be based at our Beachwood, Ohio, Moon TWP, PA, Houston, TX, Galesburg, MI, Raleigh, NC or Menomonee Falls, WI. The position is eligible for a hybrid work setup.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91,500 - $134,200 a year.

What you’ll do:

This position will work with a product/software development team as a Scrum Master for the Finance Information Technology (FIT) Payroll Value Stream.

The Scrum Master will guide their team to follow Agile practices and Scrum framework values, work to increase team efficiency, and support process improvement.

The Scrum Master will ensure that all Scrum events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox. The Scrum Master will work to eliminate team impediments.

The Scrum Master works directly with Product Owners, engineers and other product team members to guide the product development lifecycle, help create user stories, and manage the product backlog.

  • Accountable for all Agile ceremonies of a Scrum team including planning, review, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups

  • Support a Secure Product Development Lifecycle approach that establishes a strong cybersecurity focus and culture across the entire engineering lifecycle

  • Trains and supports Scrum teams to follow Agile values, principles, and practices

  • Use Agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions

  • Support the estimation and prioritization of user stories

  • Collect, track, and report Agile metrics on performance and progress of the product

  • Support the identification and implementation of improvement opportunities

  • Resolve impediments and escalate where required

  • Coordinate with other Agile teams to ensure alignment and management of dependencies including participation in Scrum of Scrums or related ceremonies where applicable

  • Supports a psychologically safe environment for the team to raise and resolve issues

  • Leads the capacity planning for each sprint

  • Communicates risks, status and general updates to stakeholders

  • Manage one Scrum team, potentially across multiple geographies

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• Minimum 3 years of Information Technology (IT) experience OR Graduate of Eaton Leadership Development program

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of scrum master, agile OR Kanban experience required

• Minimum 2 years of experience working on an agile team or leading projects

Skills:

• Demonstrable understanding of payroll and modern product delivery processes

• Knowledge of Agile

• General understanding of DevSecOps principles

• General familiarity with modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services.

• Able to coach the team

• Knowledge of payroll and time and attendance processes and systems

• Good communication and presentation skills

• Patience and empathy conveying new information

• Able to work directly with both technical and non-technical audiences

• Effective listening skills with the intention of understanding

• Multiple languages preferred but not essential
