We are adding a Regional Credit and Collections Manager to our Team. This is role is based in Houston, TX- Office located at 1445 West Sam Houston Parkway North -Houston, Tx 77043

The ideal candidate will assist the Director Regional Credit in the management of credit department activities for the region. Implements company policies and procedures related to credit and collection activities; ensures effective handling of collecting delinquent accounts and investigating the credit risks of customers and suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees the implementation and adherence to credit/collection policies, practices and procedures across the region.

Approves decisions regarding the extension of new or existing credit, adjustments to customer accounts, and referral of overdue accounts for legal action.

Coordinates major credit decisions with management teams and regional sales departments.

Manages national customer accounts.

Manages delinquent customer receivables, negotiates special customer payment plans and participates in development of financial packages.

Monitors credit activity including monthly review of large accounts, location compliance with credit policies and procedures, lien laws and sales tax laws.

Assists the divisions with difficult collection cases.

Creates and presents reports to regional and corporate management on large account activity, summary aging analysis and bad debt reserve analysis.

Participates in special projects as deemed necessary by management.

Manages a department to ensure achievement of functional and budget/financial goals.

Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field

Six (6) years of credit and/or collection experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Management experience with large team.

Some travel required to South Central Markets as needed.

COMPETENCIES

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to supervise and achieve work productivity through others

Proficiency in the use of accounting software package

Knowledge of business mathematics

Ability to use tact and skill in dealing with other staff, management and vendors

Ability to compose effective and efficient accounting reports

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) program
