About the role

Responsible for auditing and reviewing mortgage loan documents prior to entering loan data into the mortgage loan servicing systems. May work on more complex projects as it pertains to all related insurance, property taxes, and UCCs (Uniform Commercial Code), etc.

What you’ll do

  • Reviews and audits work from departmental staff and ensures work is accurate; ensures that all UCC's are tracked and filed timely.

  • Ensures that monthly quality reports and standards are audited through quality control audit process. Corrects discrepancies as needed.

  • Ensures that quality control functions for Gen pact and third party vendors are preformed within guidelines and timely manner.

  • Monitoring and compliance for tax and insurance for commercial real estate loans. May conduct research and reporting as needed for discrepancies on more complex loans.

  • May train staff on departmental processes and procedures as it pertains to UCCs, mortgage loan servicing applications, reporting, etc. Can be considered a SME (subject matter expert) within the department.

  • No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and/or a minimum of 4 years related experience. Prior commercial loan servicing experience is required. Working knowledge of commercial loan documents, insurance, property taxes, and/or UCCs preferred.

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

  • Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

  • Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite Products (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.). Must accurately perform numeric data input into the loan system. Must have the ability to create excel spreadsheets or other reports. Experience with McCracken preferred.

  • Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and timelines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
