JOB SUMMARY

Senior Software Engineer to provide design, development, maintenance, and production support activities in SAP BPC in BW/4 HANA supporting financial consolidation, forecasting, and planning. Strong understanding of financial close and planning processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leverages a strong understanding of business for designing, developing, and delivering solutions in SAP BPC 2021 classic (BW/4 HANA) and embedded on HANA.

• Drives and leads adoption of architecture standards and development practices like Test-Driven development, code reviews, static code analysis, etc.

• Writes effective technical user stories for defining requirements, and creating and maintaining SAP BPC models, dimensions, input templates, and reports.

• Actively resolves defects and manages Reports and Input schedules involving EPM/AO and Excel-related functions, interpret business requirements into system solutions to satisfy the business needs and improve the user experience.

• Develop unit tests to ensure good coverage and regression testing ability

• Responsible for testing and deploying the latest SP for EPM/AO Add-ins and system upgrades.

• Responsible for conversion, and transformation of files for data management process.

• Configure data manager extraction from various source systems both on-premises and cloud hosted.

• Experience loading data into BPC from non-SAP source systems using flat file upload, interfaces, and manual processes.

• Process chain development to support data loads, Informatica experience to maintain and monitor data loads.

• Experience integrating newly acquired entities into BPC (US and international locations).

• User Security set-up and maintenance (Teams, Tasks Profiles, DAP).

• Experience working with BADIs and macros to handle customized requirements.

• Experienced in report publication, distribution, creation of ad-hoc reports, user training, etc.

• Assists in the development of automated tests and environment management scripts

• Practices DevOps methods like CI/CD, SDLC automation and proactive monitoring/telemetry

• Participates in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to enable progress, and surface and resolve impediments

• Evaluate emerging technologies continually to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices to strengthen Sysco's development practices

• May play a supervisory role toward junior technical resources as they commit to and deliver work

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in CS or 4-5 years of relevant experience

• 5-8 years of experience in functional and technical knowledge of BPC / BW/4 / BPC on HANA / Microsoft EMP Add-in.

• Extensive hands-on experience and expertise in SAP BPC 2021 in BW/4 HANA including but not limited to Report Development, Input Schedules, Data Manager Packages, Dimension Formulas, Script and Business Rules Performance Tuning, Maintenance, and Support.

• 5 years of solution design and development experience designing, developing, and delivering solutions in SAP BPC 2021 classic (BW/4 HANA) and embedded on HANA.

• 3 years of experience with NetWeaver BPC 2021 both Classic and Embedded on HANA, backend BW systems, script logic experience is required

• 3 years of knowledge and experience with BW development experience, understanding main concepts including info aDSO, info objects, transformations, and data loads.

COMPETENCIES

• Understands and implements solutions in financial consolidations, planning, and forecasting processes with excellent accounting and finance understanding

• Develop effective unit tests and implement integration and end-to-end testing.

• Able to support a wide variety of release management processes: planning, scheduling, and controlling software through different phases and environments, including versioning, branching, merging, testing, and deploying software releases

• Proficiency with DevOps tools and concepts, including continuous integration, continuous deployment/delivery, configuration and containerization, infrastructure as a code, and monitoring

• Possesses skills, experience, and proficiency with Agile practices (e.g. Lean, XP, Scrum, Kanban) and leverages these to improve processes, estimation, etc.

• Strong experience building and deploying applications with the BPC architecture (Standard and Embedded) and sequence to run the BPC application from financial consolidation, as well as knowledge of financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, planning, and tax business functions

• Researches the answers to questions independently, improves work skills, and identifies key growth areas and topics of interest for the team. Provides learning recommendations to team members that target professional growth. Directly supports team strategies and processes for continuous learning (e.g. feedback processes, team development efforts)

• Directly communicates with key business and technical stakeholders across multiple channels: meetings and discussions, demos and presentations, written communication, etc.

• Works and collaborates effectively within a product team and connects with other teams and team members in and outside of the product family as needed.

• BW development experience, understanding main concepts including info aDSO, info objects, transformations, and data loads.
