Insight Global Software Engineer in Houston, Texas

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team in Houston, TX. This person will be responsible for implementing spacecraft flight software applications, space vehicle software architecture, space vehicle systems/subsystems, and device driver interfaces. They'll be implementing and testing flight software for ISS Commercial Resupply Services Contract and additional commercial space programs. They will work across multiple systems, including, flight software, GNC, testing, and simulation that are specific to the development of an ISS visiting vehicle.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer

Significant experience with embedded systems and overall software stack and environment

Significant C++ skills

Experience developing code on various platforms (ARM, x86, PowerPC, SPARC, 8051, etc)

Hands-on experience with various hardware interfaces (PCI, 1553, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS-422/232)

Hands-on RTOS experience (RTEMS, VxWorks, Xenomai Linux, etc.)

Experience developing hard real-time RTOS applications at the top of the software stack.

Aerospace industry experience ARINC-653 experience

Experience with NASA's Core Flight System / Core Flight Software (CFS)

Knowledge of CCSDS standards and utilization

In-depth knowledge of the NXP MPC8548E PowerQUICC III Processor or closely related processors

Understanding of the tailoring of MMU, cache, and DMA behavior

Experience with Wind River VxWorks 653 RTOS Board Support Packages (BSPs) and their tailoring for PowerQUICC architecture processors

C or Python skills null
