New role located near George Bush Intercontinental Airport! Our client, a privately held logistics company with operations all throughout the US, is looking to hire a motivated and experienced Staff Accountant to join their team on a direct hire basis.

Responsibilities will include:

• Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, assist in the financial statement preparation and month end close process as well as be involved in some treasury activities.

• Responsible for account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records and identify any discrepancies.

• Support and help in filing various tax returns.

• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for financial analysis and reporting.

• Support operations with reporting and other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Corporate Accounting role, with exposure to fixed assets, sales and use tax, reconciliations, and journal entries preferred.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas.

• Experience working with ERP systems like NetSuite or other systems

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

  Requirements

• Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

• Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• 5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Skilled with ERP systems

• Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

• Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

• Knowledge of account reconciliation

• Quality experience with University Degree

• General ledger experience

• Experience with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

• Sales and use tax experience

• General familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations

• Proven knowledge of financial statement preparation

• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Proficiency in bank reconciliations

• Well-founded grasp of month end closings

• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
