We are looking for a Structural Steel - Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team and work alongside our technical experts to inspect fabricated structural steel members and ensure conformance to shop drawings and specifications..  In this role, you will perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints and structural steel components. We will rely on you to ensure that all welding activities are performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications and verify that all welding equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working condition. Here’s what you’ll need :

  • At least 5 years’ experience in structural steel fabrication or manufacturing environment

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or High School Diploma and a minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel fabrication or manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of welding processes, welding equipment, and welding safety practices

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints (shop drawings), and specifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience performing QA/QC of bridge structural steel fabrication

  • American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) certifications (e.g.: UT, MT, PT)

  • Coating Inspection experience but not required (NACE, SSPC or AMPP)
