NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.  MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Under the guidance of the pressroom supervisor and 1st pressman, the employee is responsible to acquire and develop skills necessary to stack skids in a uniform orderly fashion for shipment. The employee is to assist in anyway on the make ready and operations of the press.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Must be able to read, write, and understand the English Language.

Fulfill all general worker requirements per established procedures.

Stack finished product on skids in a uniform manner by height and width.

Assist washing blankets

Assist in changing plates.

Secure and dispose of old plates and packing.

Assist in all web ups.

Monitor the press from chills through the folder to stacker.

Replenish supply stock at the end of each form (end boards and skids)

Set up stackers for speed and proper shingle.

Look for printing defects such as (dog ears, gussets dry-ups pagination and ink set off.

Replace belts in folder and stacker.

Maintain quality by constant communication with pressman and crew for saving copies. Maintain bundle markers.

Check load flags for accuracy.

Keep work area clean.

Follow Company safety practices and procedures to provide a safe and clean work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position requires extensive/consistent standing and walking; repetitive & frequent lifting and bending; repetitive & frequent use of hands & fingers to tie knots in ropes; moderate amounts of climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing; some kneeling and crouching.

Worker will be subject to noise, vibration, warm temperatures, and contact with dust, grease, solvents, and oil. 

Lifting up to 25 pounds routinely and repetitively is required and up to 75 pounds to move an object with a helper may at times be required.  

Note:  Mechanical vaccum lifting devices are installed and in use, so employee is not actually lifting the material... only guiding the lifting device.
