DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Mechanical Trades Occupations Teacher for the Department of Corrections, you will be responsible for the instruction and training of inmate students in the vocational area of Commercial Arts/Printing/Photography, and other closely related job skills. Instruction will include both theory and hands-on instruction.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Education equivalent to high school graduation and two years wage earning experience beyond the completed apprenticeship period in the specified parenthetical; OR If there is no approved apprenticeship period for the specified parenthetical, education equivalent to high school graduation and three years of wage earning experience in the specified parenthetical.
Special Requirements: Possession of or eligibility for a current Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational Certificate I or II for the specified parenthetical; OR Possession of or eligibility for a current Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational Intern Certificate for the specified parenthetical; OR Eligibility for a Pennsylvania Department of Education Emergency Certificate for the specified parenthetical.
Conditions of Employment:
Employees who are teaching school age youth must maintain the minimum teaching certification for the specified parenthetical as defined by the Pennsylvania Department of Education's current regulations.
