Leidos Defense Systems Sector is seeking a talented Deputy Software Architect to join a diverse team to create unique solutions to complex problems. Our offices across the United States engage in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, provide responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

As a Deputy Software Architect at Leidos, you will part of a software development program that supports product development by providing software framework architecture and vision for a complex simulation environment to include weapons, sensors, environment, and threat models. The position requires strong communication skills and ability to support cross-functional teams.

Primary Responsibilities

.

• Development of software architecture to meet capability requirements in coordination with MDA and Engineering Team

• Design of Software, providing guidance, development, and review of any delegated design work to ensure the integrity of the software architecture and that it meets the requirements of the program.

• Develop use cases, architecture artifacts, and best practices for the design of the simulation.

• Develop design packages for use the by agile development teams in the implementation of capabilities.

• Develop and provide design documentation and plans that will be presented to various leaders and customers.

• Develop and assist in producing contract deliverables (CDRLs)

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with minimum of 5 years of professional experience;or 2 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree; or no experience required with a related PhD or JD.

Candidates must be a resident of Huntsville, Alabama or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Alabama area.

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret.

Preferred Qualifications .

• Experience in SysML and/or UML modeling languages

• Experience with Enterprise Architect or similar MBSE tools is desired

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
