About the role

Carrier is looking for an experienced data management professional to join our team as Business Enterprise Data Domain Expert Level 1 - Junior Sourcing & Procurement. The Data Domain Expert Level 1 - Junior Sourcing & Procurement will be part of the Carrier Business Services (CBS) Global Master Data Management (MDM) team and will support the master data improvement strategy and roadmap for Sourcing & Procurement. The role will support the implementation of structural improvements, delivering the highest Master Data quality level aiming at running efficient end-to-end business processes and allowing for decision making based on trusted data.

The role supports the Data Principal Sourcing & Procurement on the data aspect of Sourcing & Procurement in close collaboration with the people, process, and technology partners. He/She designs and implements standardized end to end processes and tools for the maintenance of Sourcing & Procurement Master Data, delivering improved service quality, optimized cost to serve, controls & compliance, as well as enhancing customer experience. It also supports some Sourcing & Procurement projects from a data perspective.

He/She operates in a highly complex systems landscape and within a matrix organization. System complexity includes at least 100+ ERP instances, several other enterprise-level systems, supported by multiple service providers. He/She manages stakeholders’ relationships with business process managers across Sourcing & Procurement to implement the strategy and roadmap for high quality Master Data.

Key Responsibilities:

Being part of an enthusiastic and dynamic team, your responsibilities include:

  • Support the CBS MDM team in the implementation of the company-wide Data Policies and Governance Framework

  • Deliver the Master Data Management strategy and roadmap within Sourcing & Procurement

  • Support the delivery master data projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and value realisation

  • Together with Data Principals and Data Owner, define data standards, cleansing (Get Clean) and monitoring (Dashboard/KPIs) of the Sourcing & Procurement master data

  • Supporting the delivery of controlled, governed, and harmonized data maintenance processes for the Sourcing & Procurement data domain, including their introduction into the CBS operating model, ensuring effective and efficient master data maintenance services

  • Implementing the required KPIs in the Global MDM Dashboard to monitor data standards compliance

  • The above includes supporting technology implementation and required change management activities

  • Documenting data definition into the Data Dictionary/Catalogue for the Sourcing & Procurement data domain

  • For the specific data domain, act as IT touchpoint for master data SME supporting projects

  • Supporting the implementation of the Data Collection, Storage and Modelling strategy for Sourcing & Procurement

  • Developing documentation and education materials to support business stakeholders and imbed Master Data Management best practices within Sourcing & Procurement

  • Fostering a continuous improvement and agile mentality in the delivery of the Master Data Management Sourcing & Procurement roadmap

  • For the relevant data domain, support MDM Operations for queries and escalations (2nd line support)

  • Support the Data Principal in his/her continued focus on innovation and standardization to drive down total cost to serve and enhance customer satisfaction through improved quality of processes for the specific data domain

  • For some projects, manage temporary external Projects Data Experts

  • Foster communication and teamwork within and across organizational boundaries

  • Build working relationships and foster communication with internal customers within and across organizational and geographic boundaries

Requirements

  • Post-Graduation in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, ISC, Economics, IT or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ overall experience with 1 to 2 years’ experience in process related function and with the Data supporting these processes

  • Systems/IT knowledge required, including experience with their implementation (e.g. SAP and Ariba)

  • Experience in supporting implementation of standardized E2E business processes, in MDM processes a plus

  • Experience in interfacing with business operational customers

  • Experience in process and Data improvement, applying root cause analysis

  • Experience in MDM application systems (e.g. SAP MDG, Informatica, Allation, Collibra, Reltio)

  • Experience in delivering data quality reports/dashboards

  • Exposure to complex IT system environments

  • Exposure to complex business environments

  • Keen to gain experience in Project Management and get certification

  • Leverages best in class examples, key expert / key stakeholder input to design the appropriate Data foundation

  • Supported the implementation of MDM processes

  • Keeps deadlines and produces high quality output

  • Fosters a constructive dialogue within process owners, BU/Functions and other key stakeholders

  • Strong communicator and change agent

  • Ability to utilize metrics to identify opportunities for service improvement

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
