The Cloud Services Division is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead our India-based software engineers in the development of both client-facing and internal user applications designed to support our multi-cloud management, security, SAP, and modernization services. The manager will operate within a cross-functional, global organization of Product Owners, Architects, UI/UX designers, and fellow software development teams based in Europe, United States, and South Africa. Working in an Agile development framework based on JIRA and Confluence, the manager will lead projects developing applications and tools that interact with the NTT Services Portal and internal IT assets such as ServiceNow and Elastic data lakes.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach Software Development Engineers at different levels of experience

• Ensure that software applications development projects are designed and executed as directed by Product Owners within two week development sprints.

• Provide reporting and analysis on both success and challenges within the two week development sprints.

• Work jointly with our other global software development teams on specific projects as needed

• Use business requirements to advise on the design, development and deployment of the software deliverables.

• Help determine how technology can be applied to meet the project requirements

• Assist the team and help resolve technical issues during the design, development and implementation phase of the project

• Ensure the appropriate testing of applications for efficiency and identify problems with the design prior to deployment

• Ensure that the development phase is documented to ensure the development of procedures for application use

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Agile software development theory and methodologies

• Knowledge and understanding of best practices for software applications development

• Ability to understand, write, and troubleshoot software code within complex programming applications

• Ability to motivate, coach, mentor and develop a team of software engineers

• An ability to balance and plan the short-term actions within the context of overall initiative goals

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to be influential and persuasive with stakeholders

• Solid written and verbal communications skills

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on software development

• 2+ years leading software development teams

• Demonstrated experience in building, managing and leading software development engineers

• Demonstrated experience of dealing with relevant stakeholders, building strong relationships and negotiating with a diverse team of decision makers

• Experience working in a globally distributed organization

• Experience with ServiceNow (especially from a development standpoint) is a strong plus

• Experience working with Elastic is a plus
