POSITION SUMMARY:

This role reports into the PMO leader at Stryker Medical's Acute Care business unit. This is a hybrid role located in Portage, MI.

As a Director of PMO, you will lead a team of Project and Program Managers crafting our program/ project strategies to align with our Patient Safety & Environment (PS&E) Portfolio to meet and exceed our business’ needs.

You will focus on successfully delivering both NPD and Sustaining projects to increase the overall efficiency and profitability of the Business. You will provide guidance and recommendations on tradeoffs and priorities to the AC LT and key Divisional stakeholders.

You will work with cross-functional leaders to ensure alignment between our strategic vision and product development capabilities, thereby maximizing the financial return of the BU's product development portfolio.

You will collaborate with fellow BU PMO Leaders to harmonize business processes, develop talent, and advance the PMO function at the overall Medical Division.

As a senior leader you will have excellent analytical skills, interpersonal communication and influence management skills, in addition to excellent organizational and leadership skills. As an onsite leader you will foster interconnectedness and team culture among the AC PMO, and drive to create strong connections across the BU.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: What you will do:

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Manage divisional portfolio scope to meet divisional goals.

  • Manage and optimize divisional portfolio timelines and launch cadence.

  • Manage and optimize divisional portfolio budgets. Drive project and program cost efficiencies. Influence and vote on divisional portfolio spend decisions.

  • Drive the use of Quality Planning and Execution across all aspects of the active project portfolio. Mentor others in quality excellence.

  • Continually assess and enhance the consolidated risk profile for the business. Set the tone for appropriate divisional project / program risk-taking.

  • Drive a standardized approach to Procurement Management Planning across the division and ensure the selection of strategic procurement partners.

  • Develop PMO resourcing strategies to ensure optimal and efficient delivery of business objectives. Ensure deployment of competency development strategies for staff across the PMO.

  • Advance Stakeholder strategies to ensure strong collaboration and strategic partnerships with leaders across the business.

  • Ensure the implementation of a consolidated communications strategy. Deploy cross functional best practices for divisional communications management.

  • Responsible for ensuring/coaching others in effective meeting management and group facilitation activities for programs/projects in scope of PMO

  • Defines talent strategy for PS&E. Has successful working relationships with senior internal and external personnel in various departments across the division.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred Skills / Engineering tools: What you will need (strongly desired):

  • Demonstrated experience successfully driving large-scale capital projects in a Medical Device environment.

  • PMP or equivalent .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: What you will need (must have):

  • BS or equivalent & 10+ years of work experience
