IAM Strategy and Planning Director

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). Ideal candidates will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The IAM Strategy and Planning Director will be a strategic advisor for the IAM team and a liaison between business, IT, and the security organization. This role will be responsible for program management, stakeholder communication, setting up measurable metrics, managing risks, and driving the execution of key initiatives to completion. This role reports to the Staff Vice President of Identity and Access Management in the office of CISO.

How you will make an impact:

• Lead governance of high-impact, cross-functional projects, including executive meetings, presentations, communications, and problem resolution.

• Partner with senior planning leaders to develop sound, financial-accurate multi-year IAM plans with clear planning assumptions and accurate financial insights for the OCISO and IT functions.

• Lead the strategic vision and roadmap for all IAM programs, aligning delivery capabilities with business through value stream mapping. This incorporates partnering with key stakeholders, determining goals, strategizing, staffing, scheduling, identifying risks, and planning contingencies to ensure enterprise objectives are met.

• Mentor team members and influence stakeholders to ensure alignment and achieve enterprise objectives.

• Act as a Chief of Staff for Identity Access Management Leader.

• Manage and track the budget, including planning and optimization of resources and expenses to ensure financial efficiency in the implementation of all IAM programs.

• Create executive reports that decipher complex technical issues.

• Develop and execute IT strategies at the business unit to execute across the enterprise that align with the business unit priorities and those of IT.

• Synthesizes annual and multi-year plans to demonstrate tie-back to corporate, CISO, and CIO-level strategies and goals.

• Monitors and conducts research on related technology and business trends, using data and qualitative performance measures, to advise senior management relative to IT strategy.

• Conduct external research and engage partners across multiple departments within the broader enterprise to frame up potential strategic initiatives for investment or execution support.

• Provide thought leadership on how the overall on forecast models and scenario analysis to analyze performance and develop action plans to address emerging market and technological opportunities.

• Research new ventures and prospective service expansion opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Collection and Analysis, IT Consulting, IT Performance Management, Strategy or Financial Planning, Business Intelligence and Analytics, or Business Process Design; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• Executive Presence/Presentation

• Expertise in building relationships, negotiating, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and matrix-environment resource management.

• Demonstrable experience in team coaching and mentoring.

• Excellent executive communication skills including facilitation, consultation, negotiation, and persuasion.

• Experience in Health Insurance, Financial Services, or other highly regulated industries.

• Profound understanding and experience in the Information Security domain.

• Experience planning and managing budgets for large teams and large enterprise-wide projects.
