International Paper Company, a leader in the industrial packaging industry, is seeking applicants for a full-time 2nd Shift Liner Machine (Production) Supervisor in its Indianapolis, IN Corrugated Packaging Facility.

SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor has responsibility for overseeing all 2nd shift Liner Machine production employees in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, inventory and housekeeping. In addition, they will work to lead and motivate employees to work efficiently and effectively, ensuring a safe work environment and a quality product.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Supervise machine centers and provide leadership for the production team in the areas of safety, process reliability, administers plant policies, housekeeping, waste control, productivity improvement, cost effectiveness, and people system.
• Ensuring compliance of all quality checks; coordinate upkeep of machinery with Maintenance team to minimize downtime; assist in troubleshooting machine problems.
• Ensuring accuracy of production counts and inventory levels.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Promote continuous improvement and reliable methods within the organization
• Establishing high morale within your department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in addressing/resolving employee problems.
• Overseeing the training of employees, planning and assigning work.
• Reporting to the Site Manager any issues that might affect overall production or plant operations.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Supervisory experience of 3+ years is required.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs are required.

Preferred Qualifications include:

• College and/or technical coursework
• Prior experience in flexible liquid packaging and/or injection molding is highly preferred
• Prior experience in project development, team leadership, and process capability analysis
• Knowledgeable of continuous improvement methods such as Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.
• Experience with facilitating problem solving and process improvement activities.
