Summary:

Production Engineers at Meta are hybrid software/systems engineers who ensure that Meta's services run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth. They are embedded in every one of Meta's product and infrastructure teams, and are core participants in every significant engineering effort underway in the company.Our Reality Labs Production Engineering team is comprised of varying levels of experience and backgrounds, from new grads to industry veterans. We work on the infrastructure that powers the next generation of social connection mediums and platforms to the world.Relevant industry experience is important, but ultimately less so than your demonstrated abilities and attitude. We sail into uncharted waters every day at Meta in Production Engineering, and we are always learning.This position is full-time.

Required Skills:

Production Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Own backend infrastructure services from realtime RPC services to batch processing pipelines

2. Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the hardest problems, live, on some of the largest and most complex systems in the world

3. Together with your engineering team, you will share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents

4. Lead your engineering team by example, mentor and help others around you grow, be a force multiplier of impact

Minimum Qualifications:

5. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

6. Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience

7. 10+ years of experience in UNIX and TCP/IP network fundamentals

8. 10+ years of coding experience

9. Experience learning development languages (PHP, Python, C++, or Java)

10. Experience learning software, frameworks and APIs

11. Knowledge of internet service architectures (such as load balancing, LAMP, CDNs)

12. Experience capacity planning for internet service architectures

13. Experience in leading teams of engineers and cross-functional partners to deliver multi-year business objectives

$213,000/year to $293,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
