What is the job about?

Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our Quality and test team. The role of Quality Assurance Supervisor oversees the daily work of the Quality Inspection Team in Indianapolis. The supervisor ensures that Incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection activities are conducted in a timely and accurate basis, using KPI’s to track performance. This position reports directly to the Senior Quality and Test Process Manager and will operate daily out of the Indianapolis, IN facility.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities :

• Facilitate the enforcement of procedures, specifications, and standards for quality control processes.

• Document quality assurance activities and create audit reports. Make recommendations for improvements.

• Coordinate with production and operations staff to implement and enforce quality measures and testing systems for received materials and finished products.

• Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and logs; summarize re-work and waste; input data into quality database.

• Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems, suggesting improvements as needed.

• Train and guide quality inspection personnel in quality control and assurance procedures.

• Ensure proficiency of gauge repeatability & engineering drawing understanding of the inspectors.

• Coordinate with production teams to identify areas for quality improvement and formulate solutions.

• Conduct training sessions and workshops to guide production teams on quality measures and the impact on the end products.

• Assist in managing and maintaining ISO certifications and other regulatory compliance issues related to the quality department.

• Participate in the product development procedures to ensure quality standards are met from the outset.

• Promote a team atmosphere.

• Perform work, promote teamwork, and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).

• Assist oversee witness & 3rd party inspections within the quality inspection department.

• Investigate customer claims and non-conformance issues, participate in developing corrective measures, and ensure effective implementation.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

Qualified candidates will have an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering technical discipline preferred, or equivalent (or commensurate experience).

Working knowledge of mechanical equipment (motors, engines, pumps, etc.) desired.

• Demonstrated experience working and creating inspection plans.

• Proven experience (3+ years) in a quality control role within a manufacturing or production environment.

• Familiarity with quality standards and processes such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other relevant frameworks preferred.

• Demonstrated proficiency with detailed inspection tools (i.e., inspection gauges, CMM, Optical comparator, etc.)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with quality management software.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Sound understanding of data analytics and statistics as applied to quality assurance.
