Summary

CHS is a global leader in the Transportation industry. We are committed to delivering exceptional transportation services to our clients worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Director of Transportation to partner with our Agriculture Product Line to ensure transportation and logistics strategies are aligned.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Agriculture product line leadership team to ensure transportation and logistics strategies are aligned to product line strategies.

  • Collaborate with demand planners and production teams to understand the Agriculture transportation requirements.

  • Analyze historical data, market trends, and growth projections to determine transportation requirements.

  • Integrate transportation requirements into the sales and operations planning (S&OP) processes.

  • Partner with key stakeholders and senior leaders to develop initiatives, expand service capabilities and drive value.

  • Problem solving and solution proposals to optimize transportation capacity and increase service measures.

  • Develop and maintain a robust demand plan for transportation services.

  • Provide transportation cost estimates for sales proposals.

  • Explore new markets, partnerships, and service offerings.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in transportation logistics, preferably in the agriculture industry.

  • Prior leadership experience with advancing level of leadership responsibilities.

Additional Qualifications

  • Significant knowledge and experience in agricultural commodity trading, risk management, logistics and execution with a strong understanding of how this relates to truck, rail, barge and container transportation.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in logistics software.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with proven experience and change leadership

  • Experience operating in a matrix organization.

Physical Requirements

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
