Overview:

In this position you will report directly to the Senior Director of Program Management and Product Operations. You will play a key role in the development of innovative consumer networking and smart home products. You will initiate, manage, monitor, and report on new product development activities by collaborating closely with peer project managers, cross-functional leaders, and a talented engineering team.

The technical project manager we are seeking is initiative-taking who can lead cross-functional project activities by collaborating with other project managers, product management, engineering (HW, FW, Mobile App, and Cloud Services), QA, and support teams in the US and China. Your goal is to build and launch new consumer-level networking and smart home (IoT) products. The successful candidate is a good communicator with a blend of technical knowledge and the ability to collaborate with others to accomplish project goals. The engineering project manager will also help increase product teams’ productivity and efficiency by introducing modern processes and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage new product development project activities by interacting with other functional leaders in the US and China.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering development, mobile app development, cloud services, and other project managers to manage and monitor projects’ technical and operational activities.

  • Identify risks & dependences that could affect delivery commitments and help resolve them by developing mitigation plans.

  • Track, measure, and communicate project status, risks, and dependencies in both formal and informal settings.

  • Foster and maintain effective communication between local and global cross-functional product delivery teams.

Requirements

  • Mandarin-English speaking and writing bilingual.

  • 4-5 years of direct experience in technical project management working with local and global cross functional development teams.

  • Prior experience working with hardware, software, quality assurance, documentation, and technical support work streams to manage end-to-end product development lifecycle.

  • Persuasive communication and collaboration skills to discuss, plan, measure, and report product development status at each phase.

  • Knowledge of product development methodologies, and experience using planning and scheduling tools such as Confluence, Jira, Asana, and MS Project.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Past work experience with networking product companies is highly desirable.
