Allied Universal® is hiring a Global General Counsel. The Global General Counsel, will report to the Global Chief Executive Officer, will serve as the company’s chief legal officer, providing strategic legal guidance and leadership in a fast paced, growing environment. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set the strategic vision and direction for the Global Legal Services Group and ensure execution in mission critical subject matter, including: Corporate Governance, Strategic Transactions and Financings, Regulatory Compliance, Contracting Process, Litigation and Claims, Risk Management, Safety and Loss Control, Labor Relations, Employment Practices and External Counsel relationships

  • Serve as Corporate Secretary and advise the CEO, other company executives, Board of Directors and other sponsor representatives on corporate governance requirements, and key legal matters

  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders on corporate strategies, core business initiatives, crisis management, mergers and acquisitions, and other critical matters

  • Lead and mentor a team of executives throughout the Global Legal Services Group; ensure management and retention of the best talent. Manage department expenses and budgets

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

  • State license to practice law in the United States

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience as a lawyer for best-in-class legal services teams, including substantial experience as an in-house attorney in a corporate legal department

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and strategically interact in dynamic, fast-paced environments within a large global organization, engaging with internal clients, external counsel, and government agency officials across multiple levels and functions

  • Proven record in managing teams in a legal department and handling complex and sophisticated legal matters, litigation, regulatory matters, financings and mergers and acquisitions

  • Executive leadership skills that foster teamwork, innovation, agility, client relations and achieving desired results

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, including attention to detail and a self-driven, problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to drive deliverables and influence both internal and external stakeholders in a team setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Corporate governance, board affairs

  • Global experience in a large workforce, service company or other regulated industry

  • Public company experience

  • Litigation and labor law experience

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Base salary: $300,000 to $500,000 plus bonus and equity package
