Element Materials Technology Product Compliance Test Engineer in Irvine, California

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Product Compliance Test Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team in Irvine, CA. As a member of the operations team, theProduct Compliance Test Engineerposition performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer positions must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Salary $95-120K/year

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for testing projects/developments which are designed to generate certifications, self declarations and NRTL listings

  • Provides technical leadership as a key specialist on an Element wide basis

  • Skilled at communicating intricate and complex technical concepts to non-technical people

  • Active in sharing knowledge across a range of specialist and non-specialist communities within the laboratory and across the Element enterprise

  • Actively seeks ways to disseminate critical testing knowledge, acumen and protocols throughout Element

Skills / Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety

  • Possesses a depth of understanding and experiences which integrates most, if not all, of the main areas of Product Compliance

  • Has demonstrated the ability to lead technology development within the context of Element’s business

  • Is thoroughly knowledgeable of internal capabilities and understands external resources available

  • Will have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience post degree or higher academic qualifications a plus

  • In-depth understanding of the following testing concepts:

  • specific to the following standards: 60601-1, 62368-1 and 61010-1 (including -2 particular standards)

  • Possess strong computer skills

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
