Workplace Designation: Due to the collaborative nature of the role, this is an onsite position in Irvine, CA.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Establish, maintain, and identify new industry best practices to enhance an effective travel program in partnership with Edwards' offices in assigned region. Provide guidance to management and facilitate the roll out of standard end-to-end travel processes, including the launch and administration of online booking tools. Partner with management and travel program colleagues provide guidance on creating strategies, reviewing trends, and providing data that outline company performance with regard to travel spend and savings potential.

  • Negotiate and renegotiate business travel contracts (e.g., hotels, airlines) with vendors in a manner that maximizes value and minimize risk for the company. Manage supplier relationships including conducting business reviews and service level audits.

  • Educate and inform internal and external travel partners on cost and time-saving strategies. Communicate changes or updates to travel information and policy using a variety of internal channels. Oversee communication efforts to both suppliers and travel counselor groups to ensure employees receive consistent information and quality service.

  • Contribute to current global processes, recommend future processes, provide guidance to cross-functional teams, and facilitate changes to streamline and standardize global travel processes.

  • Partner on the development of strategies to overcome objections/ obstacles and build partnerships. Recommend changes/ updates to Travel Policy as needed to reduce cost and/or improve service and reflect best practices. Influence adoption through effective communication and change management.

  • Stay abreast of new technologies to enhance the travel experience. Utilize available data sources to track spend on travel and entertainment. Analyze data and reports back to department leadership regarding expenses, trends, and recommendations.

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Hospitality, Tourism, or related field with minimum 10 years experience in travel agency, airlines, and/or corporate travel management OR Master’s Degree with minimum 8 years of work experience

  • Experience with Concur

  • Experience running a corporate travel program

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Experience working in a large manufacturing company

  • Proven successful project management skills

  • Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and related travel systems

  • Proven expertise in data analysis and business process design

  • Ability to extract input from colleagues and stakeholders and achieve successful project outcomes through strong consensus building and facilitation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

  • Recognized as an expert in own area with specialized depth within the organization

  • Expert understanding of related aspects of travel processes and/or systems

  • Expert understanding of the travel industry, including policies, processes, tools, and best practices

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence change

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to work in a team environment, including external representatives and participating and presenting at meetings

  • Ability to provide guidance to others on area of expertise

  • Ability to lead meetings with external representatives

  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $115,000 to $163,000 (highly experienced).
