Staff Accountant - Debt/Securitization Accounting

This position requires a flexible professional, who can drive change, identify and resolve issues, is a problem solver and is able to work with multiple stakeholders.

This position will be responsible for various Debt and Securitization related tasks, journal entry preparation, review of the monthly balance sheet and income statement, and account reconciliations. Additional responsibilities include review of deal documents, debt and conduit system set up and maintenance, preparation of support schedules and recalculations, and monthly input of data to close system. The Accountant will provide support for month/quarter/year end close, audit, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, and Financial reporting.

In the Role

· Perform accounting functions and analytics in support of securitization transactions including: Analysis of Finance Income, Loan Activity, Intercompany and other Product Processor related accounts

· Support month-end close functions including submitting of journal entries, account research and reconciliations

· Assist with Debt and Conduit analysis including intercompany notes

· Review of financial results and performance of monthly / quarterly variance analysis within functional group

· Assist with internal and external audit requests; SOX compliance and other internal control initiatives

· Support of various business projects and initiatives impacting Securitization/Debt Accounting

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, and

· 1+ years of relevant experience in Accounting or Financial services preferred

· Strong reconciliation experience, attention to detail and understanding of controls

· Knowledge of MS office products including proficiency with Excel (Pivot Tables, V-look ups, etc.) is required

· Knowledge of accounting software system (Oracle or similar)

· Database experience is desired (Essbase or similar)

· Strong communication skills across various levels of the organization

· Ability to analyze, escalate and resolve problems

· Team player but must have the ability to work independently, manage numerous priorities, coordinate multiple deliverables and meet strict timelines

Preferred:

· CPA or CPA candidate

· Consumer Loan and/or Financial Services Accounting experience

Location: Irving, TX – Flexible Hybrid Schedule
