Description If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out. In this role, you will have responsibility over the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Irving, Texas area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract / contract / temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.

What you get to do every day

  • Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

  • Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

  • Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

  • Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules Requirements - Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Foundational knowledge in Corporate Accounting

  • Balance Sheet Account experience preferred

  • Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience highly valued

  • Prior experience with accruals

  • Demonstrated knowledge of journal entries

  • Good understanding of month end closings

  • Adeptness in cash reconciliations

  • Earlier work involving Prepare Journal Entries

  • Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

  • Background working with Post Journal Entries

  • Month-end Journal Entries experience highly preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Knowledge of bookkeeping

  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience

  • Account reconciliation experience

  • Previous experience working with Month-end Close Activities

  • Bank reconciliations experience highly desired

  • Credit Card Reconciliation experience highly desired

  • Account reconciliation experience preferred

  • Balance sheets experience desired

  • General familiarity with Journal Entry

  • Comprehension of Monthly Close

  • Deep understanding of budgeting

  • Practical knowledge of Ledger Journal Entries

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Efficient in ERP systems

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
