CVOR Scrub Tech Float Pool WPOD PRN

12 week assignments

West POD Locations (WPOD): Alliance, Arlington, Decatur, Fort Worth, Las Colinas, North Hills, Weatherford

4 12 hour Shifts/Pay Period

2 On-Call per 4-Week Schedule

2 Weekend Shifts per 4-week Schedule Period

Rate: $55/hour

Holiday: 1 Major and 1 Minor

Major Holidays—Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas

Minor Holidays—Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, New Year’s Eve, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Valentine’s Day, Halloween

Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides direct and indirect nursing services to the surgical patient under the supervision of the professional nurse, and performs tasks necessary to the functioning of the Surgical Services Unit according to the standards and policies of Operating Room care.

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • You will maintain a safe and therapeutic OR and pre-surgical area environment.

  • You will perform necessary technical skills in a scrub role requiring aseptic technique as delineated through standards of Operating Room care.

  • You will document accurately on all records, as indicated by policy.

  • You will attend and be on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job function.

  • You will prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.

  • You will ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely.

  • You will anticipate the needs of the surgical team based on knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how they relate to the surgical patient and the procedure being performed.

  • You will ensure the care and maintenance of surgical instruments.

  • You will need to be organized and practice time management skills.

  • You will promote a supportive OR environment.

  • You will provide emotional support for patients and families based on the assessments of their coping skills.

  • You will focus on excellence in work environment.

  • You will support the mission, vision and values of the organization.

  • You will integrate the management of information and effective communication skills in daily practice.

  • You will serve as a healthcare advocate in monitoring and promoting safe, quality healthcare and services for the patients served.

  • You will attend staff meetings, in-services and facility town hall meetings.

  • You will seek out opportunities to further enhance nursing education, skills, and knowledge.

  • You will perform other duties, as assigned.

  • You must be willing to float between designated facilities in the Market Pool.

  • You must have the ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests.

  • You will resolve conflicts among staff and to work collaboratively with department director, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.

  • The schedule includes 12 hour shifts, on-call and weekends/holiday commitment required.

  • Travel from one location to another around and within the Medical City Healthcare Division will be required.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Certified Surgical Technician (CST)

  • Minimum 4 years of recent Cardiovascular OR experience required; required
