Robert Half Assistant Controller in Irwindale, California

Description We are seeking an Assistant Controller based in Irwindale, California. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in the financial management team, with responsibilities ranging from overseeing accounting operations to ensuring compliance and internal controls. This role involves a significant amount of hands-on work, necessitating strong analytical skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.

• Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements aligned with GAAP or IFRS standards.

• Provide analytical insights on financial data to support decision-making.

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts, and monitor budget vs. actual performance.

• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

• Support the reconciliation of accounts and maintain accurate financial records.

• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

• Assist in audits (internal and external) and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support.

• Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of accounting systems, ensuring data integrity, and process automation. Requirements • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role or relevant field.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is necessary.

• Familiarity with Concur software.

• Knowledge about DCAA regulations and guidelines.

• Ability to perform all Accounting Functions effectively.

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Proven track record in Auditing.

• Ability to handle Billing Functions smoothly.

• Experience in Asset Inventory management.

• Knowledge of Logistics & Distribution, Warehouse Distribution, and Wholesale distribution is required.

• Capable of conducting Financial Reporting and Financial Reconciliation.

• Experience with General Ledger processing and management.
