We have been gathered to provide the best designs and advice for our clients in infrastructure and the rail transit environment.
Our rail systems team is looking for a professional with Overhead Contact System engineering experience to support our growing presence in the eastern US & Canada and continue to build on these foundations through OCS design projects throughout North America with a focus on enhancing our capability within the Northeast Corridor. The role will feature the following aspects:
Engineering responsibilities
- Task responsibilities assigned by our Discipline Leads
- Lead and support OCS design and technical specifications for projects of all sizes. Development of high-quality OCS design, from concept through to detail design
- Initiate and support the OCS Principal efforts to optimize constructability, through collaboration with Owners and Contractors
- Provide expert assistance to Contractors during the installation phase, to optimize installation methods and deliver high-quality solutions; during the testing and commissioning phase to ensure progress to schedule and rigorous testing and recording of OCS installation
- Provide expert assistance to Contractors and Owners in the optimization of OCS performance during testing and Operational phases in support of the OCS Principal
- Oversee Contractor's activities in the delivery of OCS and electrification systems, recording specification compliance, reviewing contractor submittals, and identifying design non-conformances and deviations
- Have the ability to advance detailed design documentation for construction solicitation under supervision
- Support development of presentations for design concept and studies
Performance responsibilities
- Excel in delivery, on-time performance and development of positive Client relationships
- Communicate directly with the Project Manager on all extents of OCS for the program
- Provide detailed analysis and solutions to technical problems
- Provide expertise in the preparation and production of contract documentation including proposal technical writing, project schedules and fee estimate support
- Support quality processes implemented for any design, upgrades, manufacturing, installation and/or testing & commissioning project phases
- Technical excellence and professional integrity
Candidate Specification:
Our team of professionals provides innovative engineering solutions for the North American transportation and infrastructure industry with unprecedented success. We're looking for an OCS Engineer to join our team to continue this progress and invite applications from candidates with:
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering from a four-year college or university or equivalent required
- Minimum 8 years of experience in OCS design; experience in leading OCS design tasks a plus
- Good oral and written communication skills with ability to write engineering reports and specifications
- Experience in light rail systems design, heavy rail preferred
- Focus on client requirements including technical, schedule and budget
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Knowledge and experience on the electrification systems and agencies within the Northeast
- Project Management experience is a plus
- PE registration is required, or obtainable soon after hire

Salary Range: $115,000 - $127,000
