Whitsons Culinary Group Director Business Development Culinary Solutions (NYC / Tri-state Metro) in Islandia, New York

Solutions (NYC focus), primary responsibility to drive sales growth by effectively promoting our range of specialty food capabilites and comprehensive meal solutions to diverse target markets, including but not limited to prepared meals, manufactured foods, and delivered meals for state and local government agencies, community feeding programs, co-packing and private label opportunities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES  Create and execute an annual sales plan to achieve or exceed assigned sales quotas.  Participate in new product ideation and development with the culinary team aimed at creating innovative food solutions that address market demands and client preferences.  Manage the entire sales process from strategic planning to closing deals, including prospecting, sales calls, site visits, proposal development, negotiations, and follow-up.  Continuously generate leads through telemarketing, electronic and written communications, targeting both existing and new markets.  Manage and attend trade shows and association meetings to represent and promote the company within the territory.  Utilize the approved CRM automation tool to record daily sales activities, create schedules campaigns, and provide comprehensive updates on prospects.  Maintain regular reporting requirements and monitor competitive financial results to inform sales strategies.  Read, communicate, and maintain proper documentation for RFPs, bids, and RFIs. Manage proposal development workflow to meet deadlines and ensure all required documentation is included.  Attend client, prospect and pre-bid meetings, conduct site surveys and develop operational plans in conjunction with the operations team.  Develop financial projections in conjunction with operations team and present financial projections to senior management for approval.  Deliver proposals and presentations to various selection committees in both public and private settings.  Lead contract negotiations with new clients, collaborating with legal and operational teams.  Assist operations in new account openings and attend operational meetings as required.  Maintain client relationships with new and existing clients.  Assist in the rebid process as needed with existing clients and the operational team.  Liaise with Marketing to set and implement strategies for new products and marketing materials.  Identify and recommend improvements, working with the appropriate teams to facilitate implementation.  Stay current with state and local procurement processes and sales strategies through educational opportunities and maintaining professional networks.  Perform other incidental and/or related duties as required and/or assigned. Salary range 100-125k annual Education  Bachelor’s degree in Culinary, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field. Experience  Minimum 5 years of successful experience in a sales/business development role. Experience in the prepared meal and/or food service industry preferred. Culinary background and or experience as a food broker also desirable.  Demonstrated experience in partnering with local restaurants and Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) to expand market reach and promote inclusivity.  Familiarity with dealing with government agencies and procurement processes preferred, particularly in NYC and other metro areas. Computer Skills  Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Proficiency in Salesforce or other business intelligence applications Competencies  Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus, facilitating effective communication and relationship-building in diverse communities.  Communication, Customer Focus, Financial Acumen, Innovation, Leadership (Organization and People), Presentation, Sales.
