JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, U.S. Brokerage with dotted line reporting to the North America Training Manager, the position will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of technical skills and industry knowledge within our Customs Brokerage department (specifically air/sea) for internal and external staff. You will be the subject matter expert in educating the overall brokerage process and help employees get acclimated with Livingston's systems. This role will handle training new hires within the Customs department, as well as internal employees transitioning teams.

The ideal candidate has a background in Customs Brokerage (air/sea preferred) and has a passion for fostering high engagement, coaching and a supportive culture to deliver quality training experiences to our dedicated teams.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the business leaders to determine individual training needs.

  • Proactively use business metrics to determine training needs for their region of responsibility.

  • Assist with the design and development of technical training programs and job aids.

  • Deliver technical training programs to current employees within our National Service Center and new hire orientation within Customs Brokerage.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training delivered and report back to the business and make changes where appropriate.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Adhere to established policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • LCB preferred

  • Demonstrates a drive to perform at a high standard in all situations ensuring the results meet or exceed the needs.

  • Possesses a wide range of knowledge across brokerage operations

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be approachable, outgoing, enthusiastic, and positive with the initiative to collaborate to do what needs to be done.

  • A quick learner with the willingness to adopt new tools and approaches with the intent to train others.

  • Demonstrates self-confidence and an ease to speak in public.

WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED

3 years of related experience

EDUCATION

Preferred: Associates Degree or post-secondary education

CERTIFICATIONS DESCRIPTION

Working towards/or successful completion of the Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) designation with the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers (CSCB) or the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA) is a requirement, if not already obtained.

Successful completion of the CCS examination is a mandatory requirement for further advancement.
