Job Summary and Qualifications

The Maintenance Mechanic - Electrician is skilled in repair and maintenance of building structures and electrical systems or equipment. Job involves proficiency in electrical trouble shooting, diagnosis and repair of facility electrical systems. An employee in this class is responsible for performing task in accordance with standard practices of the building and construction trade.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will perform general electrical maintenance repairs within the facility, satellites, and grounds, as needed.

  • You will install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.

  • You will install conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.

  • You will ensure piping complies with electrical codes.

  • You will keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for various electrical systems.

  • You will install circuit breakers and other electrical hardware.

  • You will assist in department and hospital projects based on your skill set.

  • You will perform preventative maintenance on hospital electrical systems and equipment.

  • You will ensure work performed by outside contractors is done in a timely manner and conforms to local codes.

  • You will have electronic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.

  • You will set priorities for scheduled work and preventative maintenance, tracking work on spreadsheets.

  • You will estimate needed materials and keep an adequate stock, always with the mind-set to find ways to cut costs or increase production.

  • What qualifications you will need:

  • 3 to 5 years experience in healthcare related building construction and/or maintenance preferred.

  • At least 1 year of Electrical Facility or Building Maintenance experience required

  • FL Drivers License with clean record

  • High School Graduate / GED
