TAD PGS, Inc. Mechanical Drafter in Jacksonville, Florida

We have an exciting Contract-to-Hire opportunity for aMechanical Drafter to join a leading aerospace company located inJacksonville, FL area.

US Citizenship is required.

The Mechanical Drafter I is responsible for creating and revising technical drawings based on rough engineering notes, sketches, drawings, and verbal instructions. Collaborating closely with engineers and manufacturing personnel, the Drafter I will incorporate technical product data into drawings used for manufacturing, maintenance, or repair. Key duties include collecting measurement data, creating new models and drawings, updating existing drawings, generating files for CNC and Waterjet machines, and finalizing complete drawing packages. This role often requires mathematical calculations, as well as research using precedents, manufacturers' catalogs, and technical guides.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Uses ASME/ ANSI standards CAD design and drafting techniques and skills.

  • Produces CAD format drawings from the data and instructions received from the engineers.

  • Ensures all CAD drawings are correct.

  • Works within the SolidWorks EPDM system.

  • Read and comprehend all trades' drawings and documents.

  • Attends engineering design meetings as required.

  • Must be capable of safely handling government furnished equipment and materials.

  • Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years related work experience in CAD design and drafting, or; Associates Degree in CAD or drafting studies in lieu of experience.

  • Possesses a basic understanding of ASME/ANSI drawing standards.

  • Minimum experience of one (1) year with SolidWorks or similar 3D design software.

  • Minimum experience of one (1) year with AutoCAD or similar 2D design software.

  • Experience with SolidWorks EPDM desired.

  • Has a basic mechanical and conceptual aptitude.

  • Takes direction and from senior drafters and management.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Basic proficiency with AutoCAD (electrical and mechanical drafting) desired.

  • Basic proficiency with SolidWorks (mechanical design and drafting) desired.
