The Associate Director, Care Management leads teams of nurses and behavior health professionals responsible for care management. The Associate Director, Care Management requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).

The Associate Director, Care Management, oversees the assessment and evaluation of member needs and requirements to achieve and maintain an optimal wellness state by guiding members and families toward resources appropriate for the care and the wellbeing of members. The Associate Director makes decisions related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems within department(s) and may lead multiple managers or highly specialized professional associates.

Required Qualifications

  • Must reside in the State of Indiana with 50-75% of travel within the State of Indiana and to the Humana Office in Indianapolis.

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Medicaid and/or Medicare managed care operations, case management, or health plan experience.

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or Social Work (SW) license within the State of Indiana.

  • 3+ years of previous direct management/supervisor level experience.

  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data trends.

  • Progressive business consulting and/or operational leadership experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.

  • Strong to Advanced Skills working with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, filtering, custom sorting)

  • This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.

Work-At-Home Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing or business-related field.

  • 3+ years of experience working in a Medicaid managed care field.

  • 5 + years of previous management/supervisor level experience.

  • Candidate to reside in the Indianapolis area and into the Northern Counties

Additional Information

  • Direct Reports: Approximately 8 Associates (may vary).

  • Workstyle: Remote , combination remote work at home with travel to support associates in the field, at member's homes, or in nursing facilities and to build and maintain vendor relationships.

  • Travel: Approx. 50-75%, varies based on staff and vendor needs.

  • Core Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday; typically, 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time.

Interview Format

As part of our hiring process, we will be using an exciting interviewing technology provided by Hire Vue, a third-party vendor.  This technology provides our team of recruiters and hiring managers an enhanced method for decision-making.

You should anticipate this interview to take approximately 10-15 minutes.

If participating in a SMS Text interview, you will be asked a series of questions to which you will be using your cell phone to answer the questions provided.  Expect this type of interview to last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Your recorded interview(s) via text and/or pre-recorded voice will be reviewed and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$102,200 - $140,700 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
