LINE TECHNICIAN TRAINEESATILLA RURAL ELECTRIC MEMBERSHIP CORPORATION1) SUMMARY OF POSITION:To provide maximum service to the member-consumer by effectively andefficiently performing the line technician duties required in construction andmaintenance of distribution system; learning and applying pertinent Cooperativepolicies and procedures; and practicing and adhering to all safety rules andregulations.2) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(1) Performs elementary line construction and maintenance functions undersupervised conditions.(2) Will become qualified through training in the following areas:(a) APPA safety manual (part )(b) Use and care of protective equipment(c) Use and care of pole climbing equipment and attend climbing school(d) Utility equipment operation(e) Commercial driver\'s license(f) CPR/First Aid certification(g) Distribution material identification(h) Chain saw operation.(3) Participates in safety, job training, employee and annual meetings.(4) Performs maintenance inspections of vehicles as assigned or designated.(5) Performs such other duties as assigned.3) QUALIFICATIONS:(a) Experience, Education and Licensure(1) High school diploma or GED. Must learn Satilla construction/maintenancespecifications. Must gain a basic knowledge of electricity, first aid, safetyrules, artificial respiration and an understanding of materials, tools and theiruses.(b) Skills/Abilities(1) Must have or obtain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver\'s Class A Licensewithin six months of hire date. Must maintain a valid Class A commercialdriver\'s license at all times. Must demonstrate proficiency in the handling oftools and equipment used in the trade.(c) Personal Characteristics(1) Must pass Satilla REMC\'s required post-offer physical examination includinga drug and alcohol testing.(2) Must be willing to work extended shifts.(3) Must be interested in Satilla REMC\'s objectives and programs.(4) Must have an interest in a program of self-development under supervisionand be willing to accept increasing responsibilities.(d) Other Qualifications(1) MUST LIVE WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF PRIMARY REPORTING OFFICE ORBE WILLING TO RELOCATE (NO RELOCATION ASSISTANCEPROVIDED).4) PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:(a) Physical Demands, to be performed with or without reasonable accommodations(1) The physical demands described here are representative of those that mustbe met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this jobsuccessfully.
