You will lead both the business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) components of our organization and partner with Executive Leadership to provide recommendations based on industry research and analysis to drive development and investment strategy, improve customer acquisition, engagement and retention. Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities:

  • Maintain a high-performance growth team of sales, marketing and product professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Empower direct reports to lead functional strategies to deliver on the broader business objectives.

  • Collaboratively partner with team to evaluate and adjust sales, marketing and growth strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Recommend changes in philosophy and policy when such changes serve the best interests of the organization.

  • Oversee marketing communications, sales and product strategies to create brand awareness and product demand.

  • Create comprehensive short- and long-term growth plans inclusive of organic growth strategies, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, ancillary product development, and other growth opportunities.

  • Identify and develop strategic alliances and partnerships. Develop the strategies, tactics and teams needed to bring new opportunities to fruition. Including managing transactions from inception through closing.

  • Lead product and investment strategy proposals and business plans to communicate new business, products and partnership recommendations.

  • Responsible for expanding the organization’s conceptual ideas into new products, processes and standards to support corporate strategies including interpretation and application.

  • Lead growth execution: deal sourcing, due diligence and negotiations. Partner with team to prepare detailed reports and presentations describing key attributes of growth opportunities and/or target acquisitions.

  • Lead and collaborate to understand market dynamics and develop a product and investment roadmap. Create analytics to ensure potential growth strategies are aligned with market priorities, objectives and achieving profitability goals.

  • Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs, sales activities and product diversification efforts.

  • Lead strategic planning initiatives including those related to corporate brand positioning, customer segmentation and penetration plans, and related product positioning, working with others to gain alignment.

  • Proactively remain current on industry and product trends including developments in customer marketing and technology platforms.

  • Be involved in the community, in both professional and philanthropic roles, as a representative of the company. Serve as a respected voice for the company within the industry and larger business community.

  • Prepare annual operating budget, forecasts and other financial plans for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 15+ years plus of successful marketing, sales and business development strategy experience.

  • Experience in leading and executing business growth strategies such as mergers and acquisitions, leading due diligence process and structuring transactions.

  • Strong analytical and technical skills. Ability to dig into metrics, distill insights and tell compelling stories through data.

  • P&L responsibility for a product, business unit or company or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Direct the research and analysis of business opportunities, assessing potential markets and developing projects for use in new marketing initiatives and expansion of current partnerships.

  • Exceptional track record of developing and implementing B2C and B2B marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives.

  • Successful executive management experience required.

  • Ability to lead large scale, cross functional projects required, including demonstrated skill in managing multiple functional areas towards success in achieving a common goal.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to craft compelling stories and adjust the message depending on the audience.

  • Regularly demonstrate flexibility, creative and analytical skills, and the ability to work well with all levels of the organization including boards of directors, clients, and vendors.

  • Prepare annual operating budget, forecasts and other financial plans for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Oversee staff activities including hiring, performance management, coaching, and development to enhance performance, build employee engagement and model the organization’s core values.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Business or related field or equivalent experience is required.
