The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This role in summary
The VPD team is comprised of technical experts with a deep knowledge of cooking products (Ranges, Cooktops, and Built-in Oven). The primary delivery of the team is a suite of virtual models proven to predict product performance without the need for physical units. The team’s physics-based approach ensures the models are parameterized such that the predictive capability is valid between products with varying forms/dimensions. This is achieved through deep technical knowledge, systematic problem-solving, and extensive lab experimentation to prove correlation and flexibility.
Your responsibilities will include
Work with the global simulation-based engineering teams and cooking subsystem teams to create and execute highly physics-based system-performance models (both 1D and 3D) for cooking products to enable virtual prediction of thermal, structure, and combustion performance.
Use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools to simulate airflow and thermal to evaluate heat flow, temperature, and transient performance such as oven preheating speed.
Build representative cooking product 3D models, evaluate designs, validate with physical testing, and perform iterations to drive efficient designs for optimal product performance.
Write simulation reports, knowledge documents, and lessons learned to capture knowledge and promote future reuse.
Develop new techniques and simulation capabilities to reduce overall simulation and design cycle time.
Work with cross-functional, category, and global teams to align with simulation capabilities, methods, and knowledge sharing.
Manage multiple projects while maintaining a strong communication bridge with design, CAD, preprocessing, and lab personnel.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace etc), Physics or related field
CFD experience using Experience in Ansys/Fluent, FloEFD, etc
Preferred skills and experiences
Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace etc) or Physics
Experience in Ansys/Fluent, FloEFD, C/C++, Modelica, etc
Background on Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics
PTC Creo, ANSYS SpaceClaim modeling capability
Ability to work with diverse global teams
Strong problem-solving skills, organization, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills (English is a must, Portuguese is a plus)
