Edgecortix Inc. Staff Field Applications Engineer (FAE) in United States

Introduction

EdgeCortix is hiring for a staff field application engineer position to join our Tokyo/Kanagawa-based team and drive support of pre-sales and post-sales activities related to our artificial intelligence (AI) processor and AI acceleration software products. While located in Japan, you will be primarily involved in supporting customers locally, including the broader APAC region, across defense and commercial sectors.

Pre-sales tasks include winning designs using EdgeCortix's MERA™ Software Framework and the EdgeCortix SAKURA-I™ AI inference devices, delivering technical presentations, demonstrating product capabilities, and working closely with the EdgeCortix engineering and sales team to win customer projects. Post-sales tasks include assisting customers with their applications, training customers on EdgeCortix product best practices, providing benchmarks, and collaborating with internal teams to improve the overall customer experience.

FAE Scope and Key Responsibilities

  • Works closely with customers to promote EdgeCortix technology, conduct Proof-of-Concept demos, and write technical proposals to secure design wins along with sales

  • Performs architecture/design/implementation reviews with customer engineers to reduce production risk and accelerate the development cycle with EdgeCortix products

  • Acts as the leader in the field to provide prompt technical support to optimize the design and drive the closure of technical issues to customer satisfaction

  • Builds deep relationship with customer key technical stakeholders and serve as a trusted technical adviser

  • Works as customer advocate in providing feedback on EdgeCortix devices, tools, software, and solutions that meet customer technical requirements

  • As a senior-level position, the candidate is a highly motivated self-starter and requires little day-to-day supervision.

    Required Background

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Sc. or related field with 5+ years of related work experience

  • Knowledge of high-level language OpenCL, C/C++, and scripting languages Python and TCL is desired

  • Solid technical experience with GPU, FPGA, CPU, or 3rd party ASIC devices used in AI inference or training

  • Knowledge of various computing memory interfaces, PCIe interfaces and network interfaces is a plus

  • A good understanding of computer architectures or heterogeneous computing systems is desired

  • Experience communicating with hardware and software groups.

  • Experience selling into robotics, surveillance, autonomous systems, vision applications, defense, and space industry.

  • Embedded or Edge focused semiconductor/microprocessor-related experience and computer vision exposure and experience

    Nice to have

  • Understanding of machine learning solutions for the cloud or edge markets

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch / TensorFlow or ONNX
